How these prices are calculated

Each estimate follows the same formula operators use to build quotes:

  1. 1 Billable hours = drive time + waiting + empty (deadhead) driving + 30 minutes, never less than the vehicle's minimum.
  2. 2 Base price = the higher of hours × hourly rate and kilometres × per-km rate.
  3. 3 Peak-season and weekend multipliers apply on busy dates, plus $150 a night for the driver on multi-day trips.
  4. 4 The range runs from 15% below to 20% above, rounded to the nearest $50.

Good to know

  • These are estimates for planning, not quotes. Operators set their own binding prices.
  • Prices exclude taxes and usually exclude gratuity.
  • Rates come from public market pricing and are reviewed as real quotes come in.
