Grand Beach Provincial Park, on the east shore of Lake Winnipeg, is famous for its white sand beaches and dunes. It's about 100 km from Winnipeg, roughly an hour and twenty minutes by road, which makes it a favourite day trip for youth groups, summer camps, churches and company picnics.
Plan for summer weekend traffic and busy parking on hot days. A charter drops the group right at the beach and saves several cars' worth of parking fees and park passes, so ask the park about group entry requirements before you go.
